This early exposure to medicine and beauty contributed to Dr. Sanan’s decision to pursue a career as a facial plastic surgeon.
Dr. Sanan was accepted to the Boston University School of Medicine out of high school through the highly competitive and prestigious seven-year accelerated medical program at Boston University. Upon graduation, he received the Dean Eleanor Tyler Award, given to the top graduate of the medical program, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Bespoke Aesthetic Results, Individualized Care.
Surgical Philosophy
Dr. Sanan takes the time to listen and get to know his patients. He believes there is no cookie-cutter approach to surgery, especially rhinoplasty, deep plane facelifts, deep neck lifts, and any other facial surgeries. Effective facial analysis and communication between Dr. Sanan and his patients allow him to develop a unique, patient-centric plan. From there, Dr. Sanan uses a refined approach to attain a natural, aesthetic result. His ultimate goal, surgical or nonsurgical, is to leave you with a natural, harmonious result.
Dr. Sanan loves to connect with patients over his diverse background and provides his patients with the safest, most innovative, and personalized techniques available. He is excited to serve patients from Boston, Brookline and Wellesley, MA and from around the country and the world.
Top-Notch Surgical Training
Dr. Sanan then pursued a five-year residency in head and neck surgery at Jefferson University in Philadelphia, ranked as a top 10 program in the country. In residency, he was inducted into the resident chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Sanan was then selected from over 50 applicants to be the sole Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellow at Stanford University. This fellowship was under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This busy year was spent training directly with world-renowned Dr. Sam Most, chief of facial plastic surgery at Stanford, and encompassed rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, and all facial rejuvenation surgeries.
During Dr. Sanan’s fellowship, he was appointed Clinical Instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine. In this role, he was directly responsible for the education in the clinic and the operating room of Stanford University head and neck surgery residents, plastic surgery residents, and ophthalmology residents. His responsibilities also included serving as a staff facial plastic surgeon for US veterans at the Palo Alto VA Hospital.
Dr. Sanan is proud to be dual-board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. These board certifications encompass years of training, multiple oral and written examinations, and peer-review of surgeries performed by Dr. Sanan.
